About the Cooperative
Bringing electricity to our rural farms and homes was the
challenge Goodhue County Cooperative Electric assumed
in 1936 and continues to meet today. Farmers were beginning to
demand electric service. Electricity would give them a much better
and more profitable way of life and would take much of the
drudgery out of farming and housekeeping.
